Payroll Supervisor

The Dufresne Group is currently seeking a **Payroll Supervisor** for our Payroll Team within our **Home Office** located at **147 Commerce Drive** in **Winnipeg, MB**.**
As a Payroll Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing all payroll processes and procedures while supporting the payroll team with daily payroll administration. You will verify payroll entries and ensure that payroll is processed accurately and on time; work with the team to ensure payroll compliance; be responsible for new team member onboarding and training; conduct bi-weekly payroll verification for all companies and locations; and ensure the accurate payment of wages to team members within the framework of current and appropriate legislation.

As the Payroll Supervisor you will:
- Provide guidance, leadership and mentoring to the payroll team.
- Gather, calculate and input payroll information (i.e. hours worked, statutory holiday pay, sick pay)
- Prepare final pay for employees and issue Record of Employment (ROE) once final pay has been calculated.
- Correct overpayments, cancel and replace cheques, and stop incorrect deposits.
- Respond to inquiries from Unemployment Insurance, Human Resources and employees regarding ROE’s, benefits and payroll matters.
- Respond to internal queries regarding employees pay or payroll procedures.
- Prepare payroll remittances including WCB/WSIB, third party demands, Payroll Tax and company RRSP/DPSP program
- Preparation/administration of bi-weekly commission reports and various bonus programs
- Work with HR Manager to keep current on changes to legislation that impact or could impact payroll.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of TDG employee benefit program
- Complete various reports for payroll functions as required.
- Be responsible for safekeeping, maintenance and confidentiality of employee files.
- Assist in recruiting and selection of New Payroll Team Members.
- Be responsible for training and onboarding of new Payroll Team Members.
- Hold a Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation from the Canadian Payroll Association.
- Minimum of five years related payroll experience and 1 year benefits administration experience.
- Must possess basic accounting knowledge and understanding of accounting principles.
- Knowledge of balancing General Ledger Accounts for payroll.
- Experience with the remittance of source deductions & payroll related payments.
- Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while working with mínimal supervision.
- Proficient in other Microsoft Office products and ability to learn in-house computer programs.
- Must be able to handle personal and confidential information with a high degree of care and professionalism.
