New Directions is a social service agency offering a wide range of resources and services that provide supports in a variety of settings and foster people’s hopes and dreams in their communities.
The Payroll Supervisor role is responsible for the overall bi-weekly preparation of payroll, including ensuring accuracy and compliance to legislative regulations and agency policies. Actively partakes in the bi-weekly payroll processing to balance payroll processing workload; expected to backfill as necessary for payroll administrators who are on sick/vacation leave. Responsible for the supervision, training, goal setting, and coaching of the payroll team. This position is the key liaison between Payroll and Human Resources, as well as other agency departments. Likewise, this position is the payroll representative in agency-wide projects and responsible for managing special projects on behalf of the department. Provides technical support and consultation to Payroll Administrators and Payroll Accountant. Responsible for the preparation of various payroll reports on a regular basis. Assists Human Resources with data analysis, reporting, and ensuring accurate employee records.

Minimum five (5) years related experience, including minimum two (2) years of supervisory responsibilities and special projects involvement.
Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret payroll data. Understands and demonstrated ability to execute technical procedures and legislative requirements.
Demonstrated ability to learn and fully utilize digital systems and information technology.
Experience with effectively presenting payroll analysis to stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and tactfully via various mediums, including in-person and virtually.
Accounting and financial administration experience ideal.
The salary range for this 70 hour bi-weekly position is $27.33 to $38.27 per hour (equivalent to $49,740 to $69,651 per annum), dependent upon education and/or experience. A full benefits package (which includes Health and Dental Benefits, Long Term Disability Benefits, and a Pension Plan) is provided to regular full-time staff.
