Within the Ministry of Education and Child Care, the Indigenous Education Branch develops, coordinates and implements a range of policies, strategies, programs and agreements related to Indigenous Education to improve the school success of Indigenous students. The Branch has responsibility for implementing the BC Tripartite Education Agreement, oversees activities related to Indigenous Education in BC’s public schools, and works closely with a broad range of partners to support independent and First Nations schools.

The Manager, Indigenous Education (Manager) is responsible for providing leadership, direction and support in the development and implementation of policies and strategies that advance the Indigenous priorities of B.C. This role provides advice and recommendations on all aspects of Indigenous Education in the K-12 sector and related agreements and initiatives. The Manager provides oversight and leadership for implementing the BC Tripartite Education Agreement.

**Job Requirements**:

- Master’s degree in public administration, public policy, education, social science, business or related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum 2 years of mid
- to senior-level policy analysis or program management experience.
- Experience working with issues management experience.
- Experience managing professional staff, project teams, contractors and/or consultants.
- Experience managing relationships with senior level officials, partners and stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple projects and/or project components.
- Preference may be given to applicants with experience working directly with Indigenous communities or organizations.
- Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit).
