**What will you be doing in the Sales Manager position?**
The Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the activities of Territory Managers in his or her assigned market, distributing qualified leads and ensuring sales targets are met or exceeded. This individual will manage the performance of the Sales Team for the region, providing mentoring and coaching as necessary. Other duties include developing marketing strategies, handling complex sales queries and customer complaints in a professional manner and acting to close sales as necessary. Additional duties will be assigned as necessary.
The Sales Manager will report directly to the Director of Sales and is a member of the Sales Leadership team for the region.

- Provide oversight and analysis of the day-to-day sales, margin and customer relationship management for the Market.
- Ensure that the branch culture, management practices and work environment encourage a high-performing, highly engaged and diverse workforce.
- Lead, train and develop the sales team to achieve branch goals and company strategic objectives. Act as a role model for the team in actions, communication and results.
- Ensure Metrie penetrates select geographic markets where it can profitably achieve dominant market share through customer intimacy.
- Ensure Metrie profitably penetrates new and existing channels to enhance market power with customers and suppliers.
- Effectively represent Metrie’s interests when dealing with customers and suppliers.
- Schedule regular customer facing travel time to outlying geographical regions in order to promote Metrie’s key strategies and maintain long term market partnerships.
- Ensure business models are tailored to maintain a competitive advantage across markets and channels.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Chain Teams to maximize the company’s footprint in the market, while emphasizing our position as a long term channel partner of the highest value.
**What background will make you successful?**
- University degree or equivalent working experience.
- 3 - 5 years of direct work experience in a manager role.
- Experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development, and business planning.
- Strong knowledge of retail and/or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Experience in dealing and communicating effectively with senior team leaders.
- Experience in managing large customer and supplier partnerships.
- Ability to conduct high quality presentations and facilitate meetings.
- 50% travel will be required.
