**The opportunity**:
The Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS), located in downtown Ottawa, is seeking a talented **Human Resources Generalist** on **temporary full-time basis for a period of 6-months**, with a possibility of extension, to promote and execute our people initiatives, ensuring compliance to legislation and company policies, and driving HR functional excellence to result in operational success and a positive impact to employees.

Reporting to the Manager of Human Resources, the HR Generalist works collaboratively to deliver exceptional services and advice to our internal clients. This position is responsible for a broad range of human resources functions supporting the talent management process consisting of recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, recognition, and performance management. This role participates in projects and initiatives in support of the business objectives of the organization and partners with internal clients in creating effective human resources solutions that provide a positive employee experience.

**The role and responsibilities**:

- Partners with Managers to drive the full-cycle recruitment process, with the potential to fill 6-8 positions over the next six months.
- Partners with the Human Resources Manager to create, implement and educate staff on new human resources projects, programs, and procedures.
- Facilitates the effective delivery of cyclical human resources processes and programs in the following areas: new hires, employee onboarding, human resources information system, performance management, learning and development, recognition, policies, time tracking and payroll.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field is required.
- Minimum 3 years of work experience coordinating HR programs and projects and facilitating their implementation.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of end-to-end recruitment experience is required.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of current employment legislation such as Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code and Occupational Health and Safety Act.

You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to use sound judgement in addressing employee concerns in a professional manner while maintaining effective relationships. You are extremely organized, and detail focussed with a strong work ethic and an ability to maintain high productivity amidst competing priorities and tight operational deadlines. You are committed to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion in your work. As a self starter, you can run end to end recruitment processes as well as research and implement new projects, policies and programs that add value to the organization. You are a strong team player who has the ability to work on cross functional teams, embrace change and thrive in a continuous improvement environment. You have excellent client service skills with the ability to respond to internal and external client requests in a timely manner.

You are proficient with technology and have previous experience operating HRIS and performance management systems. You have strong analytical skills and like using data to solve problems.
