**Role Responsibilities**:

If so, Transportation and Economic Corridors is looking for two passionate and experienced Executive Support professionals to join their team.

This competition will be used to fill Executive Assistant vacancies in two separate Assistant Deputy Minister’s Offices (ADMO): one position supporting the Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM), Capital Planning, Grants and Engineering Services, the other position supporting the ADM of Traffic Safety Services.

Capital Planning, Grants and Engineering Services

Capital Planning, Grants, and Engineering Services manages, develops and coordinates long-term infrastructure planning, capital planning, system-level asset management, grants, technical standards and procurement of all services. The division also provides advice and support on highway operations and complex engineering and construction projects.

Traffic Safety Services

Traffic Safety Services (TSS) is responsible for delivering a broad range of programs designed to enhance traffic safety to reduce transportation-related deaths and serious injuries and to ensure the efficient movement of goods in, and through, Alberta.
TSS programs focus on the safety and monitoring of drivers, driver training schools, driver examiners, and driver instructors. The division also provides leadership for licensing, permitting, oversight and compliance associated with commercial carriers, dangerous goods, inspection facilities and provincial rail systems.

The division also keeps Alberta’s travelling public informed of conditions and incidents on Alberta’s highways via 511 Alberta.

Your main responsibilities will include:

- Managing administrative operations within an executive office. This support will ensure effective and efficient operation of the office, including coordinating information flow and schedules to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner.
- Initiate, assign, monitor and track action request responses ensuring due dates are met.
- Review correspondence for accuracy, grammar and proper formatting.
- Act as a liaison to ensure accurate and timely information is provided to the executive office.
- Manage business deliverables within changing timelines and with the ability to adapt, prioritize and coordinate those activities.
- Build and maintain strong supportive relationships with internal GoA stakeholders and external contacts.
- Records management.
- Support the assigned area with general administrative functions such as Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) requests and human resource management issues.

To be successful in an Executive Support role, you will be required to demonstrate:

- A high-level of independent action and thought.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with offices of government executives and key stakeholders.
- Public relations skills - professionalism, relationship building and diplomacy.
- The ability to multitask and organize conflicting priorities with competing deadlines.
- Political acumen: you have a solid understanding on how to navigate complex situations in large-scale organizations including skills in conflict resolution and collaborative negotiation.
