**Job Overview**:
As the Manager of Volunteer Resources at Heritage Park, this role will serve as a key member of the team, responsible for executing strategic initiatives that cultivate a positive, inclusive volunteer culture, enhance volunteer engagement, and ensure the overall well-being and satisfaction of volunteers. This position requires an experienced volunteer management professional with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of best practices in volunteer recruitment, retention, and development.

**Responsibilities**:
Strategic Leadership
- Work with the leadership to execute comprehensive HR strategies and key performance indicators that drive organizational change and align with the company’s vision, mission, and values
- Evaluate emerging trends and impacts to operations and adjust program management accordingly.
- Foster a culture of inclusivity, diversity and engagement.

Volunteer Resources Management
- Advocate for the significance of volunteers within the organization, emphasizing their value and impact
- Collaborate with various departments to cultivate strategic corporate partnerships, aligning volunteering opportunities with organizational needs
- Work with the VP of P&C to design the Volunteer Program's budget and track and monitor expenditures.
- Manage the development and enhancing volunteer programs and initiatives.
- Use data and analytics to make informed decisions and improve volunteer program initiatives
- Generate regular volunteer reports and evaluate the effectiveness of the volunteer program, implementing improvements as needed
- Evaluate and review volunteer program policies regularly, making enhancements as necessary and compiling usage reports
- Develop and promote formal and informal Volunteer Recognition Programs to enhance volunteer engagement.
- Prepare and update volunteer orientation materials and handbooks, ensuring volunteers have access to comprehensive resources
- Work with the Director of P&C to design a volunteer engagement plan and annual initiatives.
- Work with the P&C leader to design a volunteer engagement survey. Lead the annual survey, analyze feedback, and present it to the leadership. Create a post-survey action plan and track it to ensure it follows through.

Leadership and Reporting
- Leads by example by providing day-to-day support to the direct report to enhance expertise and professional growth.
- Provide guidance and training, assessing areas for development for direct reports and provides open and respectful feedback in a timely fashion.
- During absences, serve as a backfill for the Talent, HSE, Protection Services and P&C Managers.
- Works with direct reports to create SMART goals and track and ensure regular communication for on-time goal delivery and completion.
- Leads the charge to influence others to change the ways of volunteers experience at the Park
- Generate and present reports and metrics to the VP of P&C.
- Use data and analytics to make informed decisions and enhance volunteer engagement initiatives.
- Monitor key performance indicators for annual initiatives and provide monthly status reports.

Organizational Excellence and Wellbeing
- Contribute to inspiring and immersive experiences at the Park through your roles and responsibilities by engaging in Heritage Park initiatives that align with the overall mission and vision of the Park
- Demonstrate commitment to workplace health and safety by complying with Heritage Park's Health, Safety and Environment Management System (HSEMS), following safe work practices, reporting work-related incidents, injuries and hazards, participating in employer training, and adhering policies including the Code of Conduct and the Workplace Violence and Harassment policy
- Actively support a positive work environment through creating an atmosphere of inclusion, engagement and fulfillment in line with Heritage Park values
- Demonstrate responsible stewardship of our people, collections and financial assets by ensuring that they are handled with integrity, sustainability, and a focus on long-term benefits for the organization and its stakeholders
- Perform other duties as required

**Required Qualifications**:

- Post-secondary education in Volunteer Management, Human Resources, Social Sciences, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- Minimum five (5) years’ prior experience in volunteer program management roles is required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in people and project management with a focus on volunteer engagement initiatives.
- Experience in a not-for-profit attraction's environment would be considered an asset
- Must be an active member of the Volunteer Management Professionals of Canada. Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) is an asset.
