Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Assistant will provide support in various accounting functions and work within a team to meet departmental goals and objectives. This individual performs general accounting duties including AP and AR.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform daily journal entries.
- Check invoices, post invoices and review accounts payable statements in a timely manner.
- Maintain proper documentation of accounting records, invoices, journal vouchers, statements, etc.
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports.
- Provide support for month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes and activities (i.e. closing accounts, accrual entries, adjusting entries, etc.).
- Provide support in preparation of reports for tax and audit purposes. Assist and support accounts receivable processes as and when needed.
- Assist in bi-weekly payroll function, if needed.
- Provide support in other accounting functions as and when needed.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of experience in a related role
- Minimum education - College Diploma or University Degree in Accounting
- Advanced skills in MS Excel (e.g. h/v-lookups, pivot tables, logical formulas, macro, etc.)
- Previous professional experience using accounting software, such as QuickBooks, Spire, Sage, etc. is required.
- Previous experience using ERP or CRM software, is an asset
- Experience in payroll function is an asset
- Able to work independently
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to adapt to change and manage changing priorities
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Have a positive attitude and excellent team-building skill
