**Position Description**:
The Clinical Research Project Assistant will work closely with the Principal Investigator to assist in all study-related activities. The main responsibilities will include conducting data extraction, and data entry according to regulatory and institutional guidelines and requirements. Other duties may include coordinating patient recruitment and data collection, study administration, preparing consents and paperwork required by the Research Ethics Board, and the preparation of study results, including presentations, progress reports, posters, and manuscripts.

**Here’s What You’ll Get To Do**:

- Perform data collection and database entry including checking data for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate research activities in collaboration with principal investigators, including general project management, ethics submissions, timelines and deliverables.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to the research grant
- Provide information and documentation for potential patients (consents, patient eligibility items, required pre-study testing, roadmaps).
- Confirm eligibility of patient (confirm criteria for eligibility satisfied, signed consent available) and register patients.
- Recruit participants and families/legal representatives, including obtaining informed consent/assent
- Conducts project specific follow-up visits either by telephone or in-person visit with participants and their families/legal representatives
- Contribute to proposal development, report writing and presentation of research findings

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
- Previous research experience preferred, including experience conducting data extraction in a paediatric population
- Previous experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred
- Experience with research contractual/legal agreement, research ethics boards, and familiarity with ICH-GCP guidelines preferred
- Sensitivity to ethical issues; ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills: written and oral
- Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated and self-directed
- Ability to function independently yet collaboratively within a team
- Intermediate computer experience: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; data capture system experience (ex. REDCap) or knowledge is essential
- Strong motivation to contribute to building a research team focused on improving children’s health
