**Position Description**:
The Division of Adolescent Medicine is searching for a full-time Clinical Research Project Coordinator to support Dr. Toulany's research program and team for a number of Principal Investigator (PI) initiated research projects. Dr. Alene Toulany is an Adolescent Medicine Specialist Physician and health services researcher at the Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics, at the Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. Her research program seeks to improve health outcomes for youth with chronic physical and mental health conditions, especially during the critical period of transition from paediatric to adult. Dr. Toulany also uses population-based health administrative data linked and available at ICES to better understand patterns of health care utilization and improve outcomes for youth with physical and/or mental health conditions.

In this role, the Clinical Research Project Coordinator will support the short and long-term planning of on-going projects, day to day operations of on-going studies, knowledge dissemination, and development of new projects. The role will include preparing proposals for the Research Ethics Board, facilitating data analysis, and preparation of study results, including presentations, progress reports, and manuscripts. This individual will also support personnel on the research team including trainees, organize communication strategies, and lead team meetings.

**Here's What You'll Get To Do**
- Organize science reviews and track deadlines
- Keep abreast of regulations and policies governing clinical research and communicating to staff and research team members
- Develop policies and procedures related to the research program, ensuring external regulations and guidelines are followed
- Research ethics board submissions, following-up on queries and changes. Prepare annual follow-up for resubmission, making and submitting changes based on protocol amendments as required
- Conduct literature reviews and keep current with study literature
- Develop and monitor timelines for existing studies and balance the demands of multiple projects
- Develop quality control guidelines for studies - e.g. eligibility confirmation, protocol compliance, scheduling of re-evaluations
- Encourage and foster collaborative relationships with the team at SickKids, other participating centres and government and community agencies
- Actively participate in departmental/program meetings or rounds to acquire and disseminate knowledge and to profile clinical research
- Develop, manage, and forecast study budgets
- Design/develop promotional strategies
- Recruit, train, orient and supervise project staff and trainees
- Liaise with the Grants and Management Office to coordinate legal requirements

**Here's What You'll Need**
- Master's degree in Epidemiology, Health Science or a related field (e.g. Public Health, Health Policy) with a minimum of 5 years experience in clinical research
- Experience doing research using health administrative data using large datasets a strong asset
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven track record in grant submissions, data and budget management
- Familiarity with statistical software packages
- Ability to function independently yet collaboratively within a team
- Effective communication, interpersonal, facilitation and project management skills
- Maturity, flexibility and an ability to prioritize project needs
- Excellent project coordination/management skills
