OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the Manager of Membership and Programs, the Membership Services Officer supports the efficient and effective functioning of Speech-Language & Audiology Canada’s membership programs and services. The Membership Services Officer collaborates with internal teams, builds strong relationships with members and associates, and plays a pivotal role in program and service delivery. In addition to supporting SAC’s valued membership, the Membership Services Officer will also help design and implement programs that will increase member and associate engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Member Support
- Responding to inquiries about membership programs and services
- Supporting key membership programs
- Providing administrative assistance to designated SAC committees and volunteers, as required.
- Other administrative duties, as assigned.

Member Database
- Ensuring that the SAC membership database is organized and up to date and supporting both internal and external stakeholders in navigating the database system.
- Establishing and maintaining membership files
- Producing reports in the database for internal and external stakeholders, as required
- Assists in developing database components to support membership and certification programs.

Member Recruitment & Engagement
- Working with the SAC team to develop and implement strategies and initiatives to encourage the recruitment and retention of members and associates.
- Playing a key administrative role in SAC’s annual renewal campaign
- Supporting the promotion of SAC’s partner programs for members and associates
- Contributing membership-related content to SAC’s online publications and campaigns

Certification Program Support
- Facilitation, delivery, and support of the Certification program to members
- Transition of members from Provisional to full certified
- Coordinating continuing education equivalent (CEE) resources and requirements
- Implement certification program policies, procedures, and changes (internally and externally) and support members in achieving and maintaining their certification status.
- Implementing the annual decertification process, including notifying members of decertification
- Maintaining website and database content related to the Certification Program

Mentorship Program Support
- Facilitation, delivery, and support of the Mentorship program to members

Special Interest Groups (SIG) Support
- Administration and support of the Special Interest Groups including but not limited to event registration, documentation support, evening event participation.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Completion of post-secondary education
- Approximately 3-5 years of related administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience working with online membership databases/software.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Experience working in a professional association environment in member services would be a strong asset for this position.
- Bilingualism (English/French) required

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Communication Skills - Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing in English and French
- Interpersonal Skills - Congenial personality with the ability to collaborate well with colleagues and volunteers; and deliver excellent customer service to SAC’s members and associates.
- Organizational Skills - Extremely well-organized and detail oriented. Ability to set priorities, work under pressure and meet firm deadlines on multiple projects.
- Problem Solving - Ability to develop and communicate solutions/responses to diverse problems/requests.
- Initiative - Display a high level of initiative with the ability to recognize and anticipate what needs to be done. Ability to make decisions and work independently and collaboratively.
- Computer Skills - Ability to work with a variety of computer programs, including Microsoft Office and database systems. Knowledge of MS Teams, Zoom and Survey Monkey is considered an asset.
- Discretion and sound Judgement - Ability to respect strict confidentiality and work with discretion. Able to work with challenging clients.

**Salary**: $56,000.00-$61,000.00 per year
