**The Opportunity**:
The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for a **Corporate Meeting Administrator**. This self-directed position provides executive and administrative support to Council. The Corporate Meeting Administrator works closely with elected officials, the Office of the Mayor, City Manager and senior management to manage the Council agenda for the Corporation ensuring that highly sensitive and confidential information is managed with the appropriate decision-making body within legislated timeframes.

This position manages and is responsible for agenda development, minutes, resolutions, inquiries, information, and procedural advice relating to Council Meetings, Corporate Budget Meetings and City Manager Briefings. The Corporate Meeting Administrator has a high level of initiative, deals with multiple tasks, is highly detail oriented, demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, can manage competing priorities, demonstrates problem solving skills, consistently completes error free work and has the ability to continuously meet strict deadlines.

This position requires an individual adept at communicating and adapting to change in a fast paced, politically sensitive environment. This position deals with politically sensitive issues, elected officials, Board members and senior management.
- Two-year diploma from a recognized school in Office Administration, Business Administration or equivalent
- Five years of progressive responsible administrative assistant or office management experience
- Knowledge of procedures, policies, bylaws, Municipal Government Act and political systems
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Meeting management including agenda preparation and minute taking.
- Advanced knowledge of Hyland-OnBase
- Advanced knowledge of T4 Terminal
- Advanced knowledge of LUB Amendment Database
- Demonstrated proficiency and working independently and prioritizing responsibilities and workload efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to manage all tasks and meet deadlines consistently.
- Ability to develop minutes, resolutions and correspondence that are accurate and reflect discussions.
- Demonstrate political acumen.
- Ability to be self-reflective and identify areas for improvement.
- Exceptional customer service and public relations skills
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn new software systems easily.
- Ability to focus on completing tasks with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to be complete highly detailed tasks with an exceptional level of accuracy and efficiency.

**Remuneration**:
$37.52 to $39.50 per hour.

**Hours of Work**:
75 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday. Will be required to attend all Council Meetings (late evenings) every second Monday and when required when Special Meetings are called or when covering Committee Meetings.
