**The Role: Technical Support Specialist**

The Technical Support Specialist role is to manage, plan, and organize service desk requests to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s computer infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly operating system infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. The Technical Support Specialist will also resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

Some of the essential responsibilities of this role include:

- Provide Tier 1 and 2 end user support
- Monitor, track, and respond on a timely basis and effectively to requests received through the IT request process
- Support multiple M365 tenants and Windows domains in hybrid configurations
- Record, track, and document the progress of service requests from submission until final resolution
- Resolve end-user IT issues such as password resets, software questions, hardware issues, network connectivity, configuration, etc.
- Technical onboarding of new hires
- Install, test, and configure new workstations
- Manage user accounts in Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
- Maintain inventory of all equipment, software, and licenses
- Assist with project implementation, research, and potentially serve as a lead on projects
- Assist with server and network infrastructure maintenance and troubleshooting

Requirements and qualifications for this role include:

- College diploma in the field of information technology or a related field
- At least 2 years hands-on technical experience with PC and server operating systems
- Proficient knowledge of office suite software such as Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Hands on experience in troubleshooting hardware
- COMPTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals, and Fortinet NSE certifications are considered an asset
- Able to participate in an on-call rotation
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic fast-paced environment, multi-task, deliver under tight deadlines, and constantly adapt procedures to changing business requirements
- Flexibility to work as a team member and also independently
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Must be adaptable, positive, and bring a ‘can-do’, self-start motivation
