Our mission is to minimize bear deaths by educating the public on safe cohabitation practices and effective attractant management. We actively engage in community outreach, events, and school workshops to promote harmonious living with bears.

**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Canvass neighbourhoods and distribute educational materials, including door hangers, to promote effective attractant management.
- Engage in door-to-door interactions to offer personalized solutions and advice on living peacefully with bears.
- Represent NSBBS at community events by setting up informational booths and showcasing exhibits (e.g., bear skulls, scat, and other signs).
- Conduct workshops at schools across the North Shore, educating students on coexistence with black bears.
- Collaborate with the NSBBS team to develop and enhance educational materials for outreach activities.
- Coordinate with and supervise volunteers to help with canvassing and public events.

**Qualifications**:

- Passion for wildlife conservation and a commitment to promoting coexistence with black bears.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- Access to reliable transportation is a must.
- Graphic design and social media skills are an asset
- Preference will be given to residents of the North Shore.

**Salary**:
The hourly wage for this position is $20 per hour.
