**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Tsleil-Waututh Nation Helping House is seeking a dedicated and passionate Program Coordinator to join our team.

As the Program Coordinator, you will play an integral role in assisting the Community Health Manager with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of existing programs and events. Your responsibilities will also include developing strategic wellness documents, seeking community engagement opportunities, and supporting the Indian Residential School Survivor program coordinator with cultural and spiritual supports. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the health and well-being of the Tsleil-Waututh community while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Guided by the community and in collaboration with the Community Health Manager the Program Coordinator will assist with existing and new preventative and wellness programs and events.
- Plan, implement, organize, and evaluate community health events such as Wellness Fairs, mass vaccination clinics, school vaccinations, wellness workshops, and preventative health programs such as mammography, foot care, and nutrition clinics.
- Promote programs and events to the target audience and ensure wide community participation.
- Develop program and event planning documents to ensure all necessary logistics are in place for successful execution.
- Develop strategic wellness documents, such as surveys and guidelines.
- Provide support to the Public Health and Home and Community Care RNs with program planning, organization, and evaluations, fostering a collaborative approach.
- Collaborate with external health care and social services partners to enhance the impact of the events.
- Participate in team and department meetings as required, contributing insights and ideas.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education and Experience**
- A bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Health Promotion, Community Development, or Indigenous Studies is preferred. Equivalent work experience in a related field will also be considered.
- Proven experience in program coordination or event management, preferably in a healthcare or community setting.
- Familiarity with Indigenous health issues, cultural healing practices, a trauma informed approach, and an understanding of the challenges faced by Indigenous communities is highly valued.

**Interpersonal Skills**
- Excellent people skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders, including community members, healthcare professionals, government representatives, and external partners.
- Strong conflict resolution skills, fostering an environment of open communication and mutual understanding.

**Project Management and Community engagements**
- Proven project management skills, including the ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
- Experience in developing and implementing program strategies and evaluating their effectiveness.
- A demonstrated track record of engaging with Indigenous communities, promoting inclusivity, and encouraging community involvement in program development and decision-making processes.

**Communication**
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, concisely, and sensitively.
- Proficiency in preparing reports, presentations, and promotional materials to effectively communicate program goals, outcomes, and impact.

**Organizational Skills, Adaptability and Resilience**
- Strong organizational skills to maintain accurate records, budgets, and documentation related to program activities.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow through on tasks with efficiency and precision.
- Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, unexpected challenges, and shifting priorities, demonstrating resilience and a solution-oriented mindset.

**Valid Driver’s License / Criminal Record Check**
- Possession of a valid BC driver's license and access to reliable transportation is considered an asset, as some duties may require travel within the community or to partner organizations.
- Must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check to ensure the safety and well-being of program participants and staff.
