**Focus area**: Inclusion and Adult Programming
**Salaried position with benefits**: 25 hours a week, Sunday 12-5pm, Monday - Thursday 2pm-7pm (flexibility is required).
**Position Summary**: The Program Coordinator leads JCC Inclusion Services and supports additional adult programming.
**Key Areas of Responsibility**:
The Program Coordinator, Inclusion and Adult Services will lead the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of inclusion services programming at the JCC. This role focuses on integrating individuals with diverse abilities into the JCC, the Jewish community, and the broader community. The Program Coordinator will also support Adult Programming at the JCC more broadly.
1. Coordinate JCC Inclusion specific programming:
- Plan, organize and facilitate the JCC Bagel Club (Sunday afternoon)
- Organize and manage instructors, supplies and budgeting for the JCC Inclusion programming including but not limited to: Art Hive (Sunday and Tuesday evening); Community Kitchen; Youth Forward.
- Develop and manage new programming for people with diverse needs and abilities (in coordination with other appropriate JCC staff).
- Plan, lead and coordinate programming for Jewish Disabilities Awareness and Inclusion Month:
- Organize events showcasing Inclusion Services and members and their important roles in the community (for example, Roots and Wings Inclusive Art Show)
- Lead community events which highlight the importance of inclusive programming (for example, JCC Inclusive Family Day).
- Research and secure speakers, develop partnerships with community organizations, and lead event promotion.
2. Administration
- Develop and monitor the program budget.
- Coordinate marketing efforts, including creating promotional materials and social media content.
- Arrange logistics for events and programs, such as room reservations, setup, and equipment needs.
- Supervise program facilitators and/or volunteers.
- Collaborate with other JCC departments and attend monthly staff meetings.
3. Ensure Communication with Inclusion Members and their Support Teams
- Maintain regular communication with Inclusion Members and their families/support teams (as needed).
- Ensure Inclusion members are aware of upcoming programs and activities and any changes to programs and events.
4. Fundraising and Grant Writing
- Plan and implement fundraising events to support the Inclusion Services programs.
- Identify grants, donation opportunities, and assist in write ing proposals to secure funding.
5. Advisory Committee
- Form and lead an Advisory Committee to support programming and community engagement efforts, including awareness events, educational sessions, and advocacy.
- Conduct regular meetings and use the committee as a sounding board for program ideas.
6. Champion Inclusive policy and practice to encourage an even more inclusive environment at the JCC.
- Consider JCC programming and policy with an inclusive lens.
- Support JCC departments to be as inclusive as possible.
Qualifications:
- BA or certification in a related field or equivalent experience working with individuals with special needs.
- Familiarity with the Jewish community and cultural practices.
- Experience working with persons with disabilities, knowledge of inclusive practices, and familiarity with the local community are assets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Mailchimp.
