Job description

We are currently hiring a Lead Medical Office Assistant/Office Manager to help us keep our office running smoothly. You will be responsible for answering phone calls, scheduling appointments and greeting patients at the front desk as well as supervising 1 full time MOA and 2 part-time MOAs. To succeed in this role, you should have great communication skills and enjoy working in a busy office environment. Ultimately, you will be responsible for providing professional administrative support to the team by following established policies and by keeping up-to-date on all aspects of office procedures.

**Responsibilities**:

- Answer and screen inbound calls.
- Greet and direct visitors and potential patients.
- Maintain the office calendar and schedule appointments.
- Maintain the files, records and verify insurance information of patients.:.Obtain and prepare medical data for doctors' review.
- Perform clerical duties associated with medical facilities (ordering, filing, shipping etc.).
- Solve problems and respond to inquiries from patients and other medical professionals.
- Coordinate with medical facilities (e.g. physician offices) to deliver medical reports, lab results etc.
- Receive payments from patients directly or through insurance companies or third-party administrators.
- Assist with general administrative duties at the doctor's office including copying, filing, faxing etc..
- Create or update patient profiles or records within an electronic database.
- Process invoices related to travel, training or any other expenses of running a medical office.

**Company Information**:
Mirus Medical is comprised of two Family Physicians with special interest in Dermatology as well as a part-time physician who runs a Travel Medicine Clinic once weekly. Staff includes 1 full-time MOA and 2 part-time MOAs. We strive to provide high quality care to our patients in a caring and supportive manner.

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- 5+ years experience in a medical practice environment
- Medical Office Administration Diploma (or equivalent)
- Ability to communicate in French
- Proficiency using Practice Solutions Electronic Medical Records
- Knowledge of OHIP, WSIB, and third party billings

**Salary**: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week

Schedule:
