We are seeking a dynamic, committed professional to join our team:
Finance Officer

Regular, Full-time (35 hours per week)

**Salary Range**: $73,757 to $$95,176 (Union Exempt, Level 10)

**Location**: 133 Greenbank Road, Nepean, ON.

Reporting to the Team Manager - Financial Planning, the Finance Officer (Budget) is responsible for assisting with the coordination and implementation of the annual budget process. In addition, the incumbent is accountable for the integrity of the Board’s financial systems and budget sub-ledger, and the timely preparation of financial information for use by management and the Board. The Finance Officer will interpret and implement new legislation, prepare financial reports that compare actual activity with budgets, develop financial projections and budget working papers, and complete various Ministry Education Finance Information System (EFIS) schedules and supporting documents.

A university degree in business administration or commerce, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or advanced standing in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP);
5 years of experience in a financial/management accounting environment (FP&A). Public sector experience would be an asset.

Advanced computer literacy and a proven ability to manage complex databases/spreadsheets using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
Organizational, project and change management skills required to respond to multiple priorities and to ensure successful project outcomes;
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to professionally interact with staff at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders including auditors;
Writing skills required when preparing reports that explain financial results;
Public speaking skills required when presenting information to various stakeholder groups which may include committees of the Board;
Research skills to review changes to legislation, regulations and contracts and to assess the impact of these in relation to budget development and reporting activities;
Analytical, troubleshooting and issue resolution skills;
Judgement when investigating issues, making decisions or recommendations;
The ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; and

Familiarity with governance structures, policies and operations of a public school board
