**About the role**

We’re looking for a** Business Development Account Manager, Ontario West **to join our growing team

As a **Business Development Account Manager,** you will be responsible for implementing profitable growth and retention strategies with our brokers. You will be accountable for all technology/product initiatives and related results. In this role, you will assist the Director, Sales & Business Development in all regional functions involving brokers, as well as assisting in the preparation of the Business Development Plan for the region and ensuring that it is carried out. You will play a key role in developing business to achieve strategic goals, while maintaining excellent business relationships with the brokerage network.

**Here are a few ways you'll make a difference**:

- Working with Director, S&BD, responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of broker relationship strategies for a group of assigned brokerages. Ensure broker relationships are healthy and prospering. Communicate/articulate organizational strategy; including product, appetite, connectivity, new rating programs, pricing methodology and basic sales skills.
- Work in conjunction with Director, S&BD / Commercial Lines Manager / Personal Lines Manager to execute branch objectives (growth, profitability, mix of business, retention and penetration) including the identification of market opportunities (portfolios, Broker Financial Services deals, Mid Size Enterprise (MSE)).
- Manage and is accountable for profitability and growth of a block of brokers within branch. Build, implement and monitor sales plans including any rehab broker plans for assigned brokerages (i.e. customized growth plans for targeted brokerages, meeting production and retention targets, MSE growth etc.).
- Analyze business opportunities and constraints to growth for assigned brokers; makes recommendations to assist brokers in the development of their specific business plan. Responsible for sales planning process and contract administration including Contingent Profit Commission.
- Collect market intelligence information regarding various topics such as products, pricing, broker compensation, market volumes etc.
- Work with your Director and managers to motivate the underwriting team and achieve a steady and sustained level of engagement. Share your knowledge of the network with your team and act as a driver of business development.

**What you bring to the table**:

- Undergraduate University Degree preferred
- 5 years of related experience, including 3 years in Business Development or working closely with the broker network
- Knowledge of brokerage network and insurance products/services
- Personal and Commercial Lines expertise
- Sales and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and customer service skills, including team leadership
- Must be results-oriented, and take initiative
- Planning and organization skills with the demonstrated ability to be flexible
- Committed to excellence and customer-driven

**Note**:Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record. This role requires frequent travel.
