Waterloo, Canada Pontosense Full time

**About Pontosense**:
At Pontosense, we have a groundbreaking mission: saving lives. Our wireless sensing modules are at the forefront of this life-saving technology, the only one of its kind in the world; offering unparalleled medical-grade accuracy for crucial biometrics.

Imagine a sensor that can wirelessly monitor vital signs like heart rate, breathing, and even advanced biometrics. This sensor becomes your personal guardian angel, promptly alerting your car or house at the first sign of an emergency. With Pontosense, you can ensure the safety of your living space like never before. Today, we are fortunate to work with the most prominent automotive and smart home companies - think of one; chances are, we are their partner.

Founded in Waterloo, we have grown to offices in Toronto, Japan, China, and Germany. Our founding team has invented over 500+ patents (more than Airbnb and Snapchat combined) and built three different unicorns ($1B+ market cap), and wireless sensing is our passion - we want to change the world for the better.

**About the Role**:
We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join our team and drive HR initiatives that align with our strategic goals. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR operations at Pontosense. This includes but is not limited to talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compliance with employment laws and regulations, and fostering a positive and inclusive work culture.

**Please Note**: This is a hybrid position and is based in our Toronto or Waterloo office. The salary range for this role is $84,000 - $104,000.

**As an HR Manager, you will**:

- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business objectives.
- Handle employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans.
- Administer employee benefits programs and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance employee skills and promote professional development.
- Maintain HR records and systems, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Stay updated on employment laws and regulations, and ensure company policies and procedures are in compliance.
- Collaborate with department managers to address staffing needs and optimize team performance.

**What we’re looking for**:
To be successful in this role, there are a few things that we are looking for. This is by no means an exhaustive list, if you do not meet most or all of these points, we still encourage you to apply.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certification is an asset).
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in HR management roles.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations.
- Experience in talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

**Why Join Our Team?**:

- Join an exciting, innovative, fast-paced technology start-up disrupting the industry.
- Be part of a small, tight-knit team where you are encouraged to be creative and take risks and your contributions make a huge impact.
- Competitive salary and benefits for full-time employees that include comprehensive health benefits, 15 days of vacation, and a hybrid work environment.
- Enjoy a fun, relaxed work culture that values collaboration, inclusivity, and work-life balance.
- Excellent mentorship opportunities with the ability to grow.

**Our Commitment**:
At Pontosense, we are committed to creating a workplace that is inclusive and accessible to all. We value diversity and believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to succeed.

If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation during the hiring process, please let us know. We will work with you to make the necessary accommodations to ensure a fair and positive experience for all applicants.

We strive to provide accessible communication and technology for our employees and customers and always look for ways to improve. If you have any feedback or suggestions on how we can improve accessibility in our workplace, please don't hesitate to contact us.
