**Strategic Services and Governance Division**
- Strategic Services and Governance Division provides strategic leadership and oversight along with a corporate support focus on:

- Ministry policy, planning, legislation and assurance;
- Intergovernmental strategy and support for international education; and
- French language services and stakeholder engagement.

**Role Responsibilities**:
The Information and Issues Coordinator (IIC) reports to the Executive Advisor in the Assistant Deputy Minister's Office (ADMO) in the Strategic Services and Governance Division. This position acts as a liaison with other Assistant Deputy Minister's Offices (ADMO), Deputy Minister's Office (DMO) and Communications to manage complex and diverse issues, division workflows, special projects and provide advice and support on key files.

The IIC is responsible for editing and strategic review of documents, such as briefings, correspondence and other material. This position also leads a quality assurance function ensuring quality and timely deliverables.

As Information and Issues Coordinator (IIC), you will be responsible for the following key activities in the Assistant Deputy Minister's Office (ADMO):
**1. Identify and manage strategic issues: lead information and workflow management in the ADMO**:

- Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure the ADMO runs effectively and efficiently, and that processes are clearly understood by all parties.
- Develop and manage systems and tools to assist in the tracking, assessment and escalation of priority initiatives within the division.
- Facilitate resolution of issues through consultation with sector heads and any appropriate parties. Provide direction and advice of the appropriate routing of issues and identify strategic alignments to generate input.
- Research and coordinate divisional responses to information responses from the Minister, Deputy Minister, ADM, Communications and other divisions within Education.
- Liaise regularly with Communications and Public Engagement to anticipate communications needs of the division, ADM, DM and the Minister as well as coordinating briefings and key messages.
- Ensure consistency and clarity of ministry key messaging to enable ECU and Communications to respond to the public and stakeholders in a timely fashion.
- Ensure a high standard of quality in all correspondence and documentation originating or passing through the ADMO.
- Effectively manages confidential and sensitive information.
- Develop recommendations to support the continuous improvement of division processes and function and maintain awareness of associate processes, tools and best practices that can be tailored to meet division requirements.

**2. Monitor and report on major initiatives and issues**:

- Track major divisional initiatives and current and long-term issues to ensure timely progress.
- Provide divisional integration and oversight through the development of action request metrics reporting, transition binder planning and coordination, identification and development of tools to proactively manage information needs.

**3. Manage the ARTS process and ensure the sectors provide professional, clear and succinct materials**:

- Work with ADMO staff to triage incoming action requests (ARs) to determine the nature of their priority and flag high priority or sensitive ARs for sector Executive Directors (EDs) and ADM EA.
- Assign ARs as required, while providing leadership and guidance to staff and sector ARTS administrators on the processes. Serve as the point of contact for the DMO, Communications and the division's AR related queries.
- In consultation with the ADM EA, ECU and other parties, develop, implement and maintain processes to continuously improve and enhance quality, timeliness and consistency of action requests.
