**Payroll Administrator**

As thePayroll Administrator you will be responsible for full cycle payroll functions related to the collecting, verifying and processing of bi-weekly payroll and benefit administration for all employees using a computer integrated payroll/finance system in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with the applicable legislation, Collective Agreement, benefit plan provisions, policies and procedures.

**HOURS OF WORK**:
This is a full-time position working 35 hours per week. This position works Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm, with one (1) hour unpaid lunch.

**SALARY RANGE**: $26.22 to $33.58 per hour (Grade 5)

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Processing bi-weekly payroll for all staff. This includes the set-up, maintenance, and distribution of salary information within a computerized payroll system
- Enrollment and maintenance of employees in applicable benefit plans
- Verifying all payroll transactions relating to hourly, and full time employees
- Preparation and balancing of remittances for source deductions and benefit premiums
- from employees and outside partners
- Preparation and issuing of Record of Employments via ROE Web, and responding to queries from Service Canada
- Calculating all final pay entitlements for leave of absences, resignations, and retirements
- Preparing month and year-end reports for service, sick leave balances, vacation carry-over, union dues report and submission
- Generate, balance and distribute T4’s for all employees
- Prepare hours listing for seniority lists every January and June

**Knowledge, Abilities and Skills**:

- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent problem-solving/judgement skills and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and customer service skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- Solid understanding of all applicable federal and provincial legislation and a thorough understanding of Collective Agreements.
