MD Management Limited, a division of Scotia Wealth Management, has an exciting opportunity for a talented, enthusiastic, and client-focused Manager, Vendor and Contract Management to join our team in Ottawa.

As a Manager, Vendor and Contract Management, you will be responsible for managing the critical or important contracts within the Business Line or Function with a goal to ensure negotiated value is realized and risk mitigated/managed with the supplier. The role will collaborate with contract owners, Business Line Executives and Corporate Functions to execute supplier management practices under contract management, financial management, performance management, risk management and relationship management, aligned to the core set of activities defined within the third-party management policies, standards and procedures.

**Is this role right for you? In this role you will**:

- Manage vendor contract negotiations, recommending and guiding changes to contract terms and performance measurements, ensuring that contract terms, standards and expectations are met by both the vendor and MDFM, and issues are resolved expeditiously.
- Manage and plan demand requirements with the business and vendors, managing both operational and project budgets for strategic vendors and ensuring sourcing contracts consistently fall within assigned budget requirements
- Lead and manage elements of the vendor program to ensure strategic goals are aligned with Scotiabank’s Third-Party Risk Management framework and business stakeholders have a clear line of support and guidance. This includes ensuring systems, policies and procedures are in place. continuously reviewed and updated to ensure ongoing alignment with regulatory changes, Scotiabank’s Third Party Risk Management frameworks and/or any other ongoing changes.
- Through the development of trusted and productive relationships and service level agreement oversight, you will be accountable for the consistent management of vendor relationships, including costs, issues, and risks. Validate and track SLA service and earn-back requests; validate and resolve any challenges regarding invoice payments
- Track engagements approaching expiry and work collectively with business stakeholders, enterprise vendor managers and sourcing managers to finalize transition plans and manage transition activities
- Monitor, measure, manage and track vendor performance to ensure contract compliance and create BU-based vendor views across contracts
- Lead escalated issues/incidents to resolution pertaining to vendor performance, delivery quality and risks
- Understand the risks and conditions associated with select supplier/vendor contract to inform of emerging risks
- Lead and coordinate supplier/vendor control assessments (e.g. SOC review, on-site visits, testing etc.) to manage risk
- Set up and onboard vendors post contract execution including vendor onboarding applicable platform, confirming the governance structure, onboarding resources etc. at the contract level
- Provide clarity on the specific roles and responsibilities of all stakeholders involved in the Supplier/Vendor performance plan
- Participate in Vendor Management internal meetings for continuous improvement actions
- Escalate contract compliance and / or risk controls issues, as applicable
- Implement standardized structure and training modules across the Business Line in partnership with the MD Vendor Management team and other key stakeholders including but not limited to, the Enterprise Third Party Management Program Team
- Provide oversight and governance within the business to ensure compliance with relevant third-party policies and local regulatory requirements
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

**The Must Haves**:

- 3-5 years’ experience in contract management and supplier performance management preferred
- University degree and postgraduate qualifications, or equivalent combination of education and Supplier management experience
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Regulatory knowledge i.e. OSFI E13
- Experience managing and coordinating internal and external stakeholder groups for proven service delivery
- Demonstrated experience
