About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and well-organized Senior Supply Chain Contract Manager to join our team in Ottawa, Canada. This individual will provide subject matter expertise in the effective acquisition of technically complex or commercially risky goods and services in support of Telesat company objectives and program needs.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in contract management and supply chain, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and strong knowledge of purchasing ethics, practices, and policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Management: Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of corporate policies and purchasing processes to mitigate potential risks to Telesat in connection with supply chain management.
  • Contract Negotiation: Exercise independent authority in planning, scheduling, organizing, controlling, and monitoring supply chain activities in connection with procurement of highly complex, developmental, and specialized goods or services.
  • Aquisition Practices: Implement effective and compliant acquisition practices that achieve program and company objectives.
  • Vendor Management: Own contractual supply chain management functions for assigned vendors.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform supply chain risk assessments, undertake due diligence tasks, champion down selection, and provide procurement expert knowledge in support of engineering/project teams.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with the Legal department to draft and implement all contract templates, including purchase agreements, amendments, renewals, Statements of Work, framework agreements, licensing agreements, consulting service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, general terms, correspondence, and terminations.
  • Supplier Performance: Manage supplier performance throughout the execution lifecycle by being responsible for sourcing, RFP preparation, proposal evaluation, negotiation, award, execution, administration, and closeout phases.
  • Contract Monitoring: Monitor established supplier contracts through to completion, including tasks such as organizing and attending periodic stakeholder meetings, reporting, managing scope change and variations to contracts, and invoice approval.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Commerce, Finance, or Engineering.
  • 5+ Years Experience: 5+ years of experience working in supply chain or procurement, ideally in a complex technology-based environment with long-term programs and multiple supplier contracts.
  • Professional Designation: A professional designation in Procurement (e.g., CIPS).
  • Experience: Experience in planning, developing, and maintaining contract processes, contract drafting, and negotiations.
