**Key Accountabilities**
- **Regulatory Compliance**: Supporting the Fleet Manager in ensuring compliance with federal and local transportation regulations. This involves monitoring electronic Hours of Service and daily service logs of employees for correct entries and making corrections were required via interaction with all Regional Business Units.
- ** Maintain vehicle files: Responsible for maintaining all vehicle repair and maintenance records (either paper or electronic) for all Nova Scotia registered vehicles as per provincial regulations.**:
- ** Data Entry**: Entering data into fleet software (M5) to ensure all fleet vehicle repair & maintenance information is correct and that preventive maintenance is being performed as per GFL guidelines. May require interaction with 3rd party vehicle maintenance and repair providers to obtain required documentation as per GFL Fleet policy.
- ** Policy Development**: Help in the creation and implementation of new fleet policies and procedures as well as standard operating procedures to be enacted at the various Business Units throughout the Atlantic Region to ensure the safe and proficient operations of fleet vehicles.
- ** Training and Education**: Assist Fleet Manager in the preparation of documentation or in conducting training sessions for operators and other staff members on vehicle compliance, safety protocols, and best fleet practices.
- ** Risk Management**: Assessing any risks identified in the performance of the above duties and reporting to the Fleet Manager for immediate corrective action.
- ** Collaboration**: Work closely with other departments (such as, operations, procurement and legal) to maintain vehicle compliance and resolve any issues.
- ** Vehicle Registrations**: Assist in the registration of motor vehicles at the Registry of Motor Vehicle or other regulatory agencies (IRP or IFTA) on an as required basis.
**Experience, Qualifications & Education**
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, word, excel, etc)
- Strong attention to detail
- Previous experience in using fleet maintenance and/or vehicle location (GPS) software is considered an asset.
