MTE Logistix was established in 1920 with little more than a warehouse, a couple of trucks and a mission to provide the best service in the industry.

In 2020, MTE Logistix celebrated its 100 years in business. Today, MTE Logistix is one of Western Canada’s largest third-party logistics providers, operating more than 3.5 million square feet of warehouse space across multiple facilities in Edmonton and Calgary, Alberta, and employing upwards of 300 people.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President Business Development (VP BD) will be responsible for revenue generation and marketing teams and outcomes at MTE Logistix. The VP BD will create new business opportunities, maintain and build on revenue streams with existing customers, develop new customers, pursue strategic partnerships, and elevate MTE Logistix’s brand toward increasing market share. You will be a leader in mentoring and developing a highly effective sales team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identifies and develops new business opportunities.
  • Evaluates existing partnerships and sales efforts.
  • Manages key client relationships and builds new ones.
  • Oversees pricing strategies to maximize revenue.
  • Expands the profile and reach of the company and its brands.
  • Leads revenue and marketing teams.
  • Develops and strengthens internal and external relationships for lead generation.
  • Builds cross-functional teams for sustainable growth.
  • Tracks emerging markets and trends.
  • Fosters an entrepreneurial growth culture across teams.
  • Identifies and recommends new services.
  • Researches and identifies new markets.
  • Proposes and develops strategic partnerships.
  • Advises on product development and promotion strategies.
  • Shapes the company’s long-term sales objectives.
  • Conducts webinars and presentations to raise brand profile.
  • Selects vendors and negotiates contracts.
  • Responds to requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Explores technology to support sales objectives.
  • Helps develop customer-facing web platforms and digital experiences.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, or related discipline.
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Development, Marketing or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience leading sales and marketing teams.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in transportation, freighting, distribution, or warehousing is an asset.
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Analytical and mature approach to problem-solving.
