For over 25 years, the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization for Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) has been helping women start, grow, and advance in business. As the only not-for-profit organization in the province dedicated exclusively to supporting women entrepreneurs, NLOWE's programs, services, and advocacy have significantly contributed to the economic prosperity of the province and the advancement of women entrepreneurs. NLOWE works to advance equality for all women through business programming, one-on-one advisory services, mentorship, export programming, and supplier diversity.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Supported by the Government of Canada through Women and Gender Equality Canada, NLOWE is currently seeking a Project Coordinator to lead a 33-month initiative designed to address gender bias in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Newfoundland and Labrador. This project aims to increase the participation of women entrepreneurs in the entrepreneurial ecosystem through:

  1. Improvement of access to mentorship and networking opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
  2. Reduction of gender bias in entrepreneurship-related policies and programs.
  3. Enhanced economic growth and innovation driven by women entrepreneurs.

PROJECT COORDINATOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and final report delivery of the project. Your duties will include:

  1. Engaging external stakeholders, including community partners, industry associations, academic institutions, NLOWE members, and women entrepreneurs throughout the province, to assist with the creation of focus groups and advisory boards.
  2. Facilitating and managing requests for proposals to engage external contractors and evaluators to assist with research and data collection.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  1. Business degree or equivalent education combined with experience.
  2. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Proficient with Microsoft 365.
  4. Exceptional attention to detail.
  5. Demonstrated ability to build solid, effective working relationships with others.
  6. Experience working with underrepresented groups in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
  7. Experience in the development and rollout of programs and training materials.
  8. Experience with virtual event management.
