ABOUT NLOWE:
For over 25 years, the Newfoundland and Labrador Organization for Women Entrepreneurs (NLOWE) has been dedicated to empowering women in their entrepreneurial journeys. As the sole not-for-profit entity in the province focused exclusively on supporting women business owners, NLOWE's initiatives, services, and advocacy have played a pivotal role in enhancing the economic landscape and advancing the status of women entrepreneurs. NLOWE is committed to promoting equality for all women through comprehensive business programming, personalized advisory services, mentorship opportunities, export initiatives, and supplier diversity.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
With support from the Government of Canada through Women and Gender Equality Canada, NLOWE is seeking a Project Coordinator to spearhead a 33-month initiative aimed at tackling gender bias within the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Newfoundland and Labrador. This project aspires to boost the involvement of women entrepreneurs in the business landscape through:
- Enhancing access to mentorship and networking opportunities for women in business.
- Mitigating gender bias in policies and programs related to entrepreneurship.
- Fostering economic growth and innovation led by women entrepreneurs.
PROJECT COORDINATOR ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Project Coordinator, you will oversee the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and final reporting of the project. Your responsibilities will encompass:
- Engaging with external stakeholders, including community partners, industry associations, academic institutions, NLOWE members, and women entrepreneurs across the province, to facilitate the formation of focus groups and advisory boards.
- Coordinating and managing requests for proposals to engage external contractors and evaluators for research and data collection purposes.

The ideal candidate will possess:
- A business degree or equivalent educational background combined with relevant experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- A proven ability to cultivate strong, effective working relationships.
- Experience working with underrepresented groups in the entrepreneurial sector.
- Experience in developing and implementing programs and training materials.
- Experience in managing virtual events.
