The Volunteer Coordinator will oversee daily operations, streamline processes, and ensure the efficiency of services. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, be a self-starter, a strong problem-solver, a quick learner, the ability to recognize gaps in the programming, and possess the initiative to fill these gaps.


Salary: $55,000


Responsibilities

Operations Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency of programming, productivity, and

quality. Oversee the implementation of operational policies and procedures.


Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance operations.


Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and support a team of volunteers. Conduct regular check-ins, set goals,

and facilitate team development.


Resource Allocation: Ensure the effective use of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to meet production and operational goals.


Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance.


Customer Service: Collaborate with partnered agencies to ensure satisfaction and resolve operational issues.


Reporting: Prepare and present monthly reports on attendance and operational performance.


Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with partners. Recruit new partnerships and streams of students.


Problem Solving: Address and resolve operational issues as they arise, providing innovative solutions to complex

problems.


Tutor Relations: Interview new volunteer applicants. Conduct reference checks. Help successful applicants

apply for Vulnerable Sector Screening. Train and mentor new volunteers.


Meetings and Events Attend all weekly meetings, staff get-togethers, and volunteer events. Help to plan, organize, and oversee volunteer events.


Team Member Be an active participant in the small-team culture. Help other team members when

needed. This may include content creation, grant-writing, social media posts, or other tasks.


Teaching: In-person at the Toronto South Detention Centre. Virtual teaching for the Youth Literacy

Initiative and Adults Programming in the Community. Potential in-person tutoring for students in the community.


Training Willing to partake in a 35-hour eLearning course in addition to on-the-job training.


Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in operations management, volunteer coordination, or a similar role.

Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.

Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Project Management: Experience with volunteer management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in operational software.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills.
