The Role

The Desktop Technician for the Town of High River is a support position, providing technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software and hardware. The Desktop Technician is responsible as first line support to take and log all information technology calls and requests and assign them as necessary between desktop, network and administrative IT queues within the Web Helpdesk Ticket System.

To be successful you will have A+ Computer Certificate in Computer Technology or 2-3 years related support experience in a diversified corporate computing environment. In addition, proven knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office systems and desktop and network printing solutions is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong self-directed work ethic and time management skills, a valid Class 5 Driver’s License, and will be able to work outside of regular business hours occasionally.
