Northland School Division is accepting applications for a position of IT Technician. Northland serves approximately 1700 students and 400 employees in 18 schools across northern Alberta. Responsibilities for this technical support position include the following areas:

  • Provision, install, configure and maintain desktops/laptops and Chromebooks.
  • Troubleshoot network cabling and all computer hardware issues.
  • Troubleshoot interactive displays and other classroom technologies.
  • Install and support operating systems and application software.
  • Provide technical support via telephone, remote desktop and on-site visits to schools and remote offices.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Prior IT experience in an educational environment.
  • A diploma or degree from a computer (or related) technology program.
  • Certification in Microsoft and/or CompTIA training.
  • Experience with TCP/IP Local Area Networks.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, Google for Education and Active Directory.

Must Have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Dedication to quality service and a desire to learn new technologies.
  • Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
