We are currently seeking a Service Desk Technician to become part of our esteemed sawmill operation in High Level, Alberta. Our High Level Lumber Division is dedicated to producing sustainable forest products that serve customers globally, helping them to construct their homes and communities.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- A college diploma or university degree in computer science or a related field, or 2 years of relevant experience in a customer service-oriented IT position.
- Proficiency with service desk ticketing systems.
- Experience with desktop and server operating systems.
- Outstanding troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, emphasizing rapport-building and effective listening.
- Knowledge of basic computer hardware, including desktops, servers, storage, mobile devices, and networking equipment.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office and related applications (Office, Teams, OneDrive).
- Familiarity with the fundamental principles of ITIL is a plus.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:
- Reporting to the Lead, Service Desk.
- Managing Service Requests for our business and manufacturing facilities.
- Providing Tier 1 support for standard applications and End User Computing standards.
- Receiving, prioritizing, documenting, and actively resolving end-user requests while escalating incidents as necessary to uphold Service Level Agreements.
