WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The candidate will work closely with Project Leads to ensure budgets, staff resources, and timelines are aligned across and within Business Units. The candidate will be primarily involved with large-scale complex remote sensing forest inventory projects and will report directly to the Inventory Business Unit Manager. Multiple remote sensing forest inventory projects can be on-going at any one time and typically include 7-12 team members and a timeline of 8-16 weeks. A critical task will be to support the sales team in understanding resource availability and plausible timing to complete new projects. In addition to helping to coordinate inventory projects, the candidate may be asked to perform similar tasks for other business units in Forsite covering wildfire risk management, forest planning & analysis, and GIS projects.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline or 5 years relevant Project management experience;
  • Forest industry or utility industry experience would be an asset.
  • SRED and R&D planning experience would be an asset.
  • Experience in remote sensing projects including LiDAR, satellite, and multi-spectral image processing would be an asset.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Service would be an asset.
  • Experience with using Remote Sensing for Forestry or Natural Resource Analysis / Management would be considered an asset.
  • Professional certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) preferred
