Roteq Machinery Inc. is an engineer-to-order company specializing in conceiving, designing, and manufacturing of rotating equipment for the wire and cable, umbilical, flexible pipe, and hose manufacturing industries.

The Sales Engineer will be accountable for generating net new profitable revenue, identifying opportunities in the market, and developing sales strategies for target accounts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Generating net new profitable revenue to achieve and surpass individual and team revenue objectives;
  • Identifying opportunities in the market and developing sales strategies for target accounts;
  • Executing and developing new customer relationships through prospecting, understanding customer requirements, and closing sales;
  • Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting, quoting, follow up, negotiation, order intake, customer coordination, to final payment receipt;
  • Interpreting customers' complex technical needs and delivering understandable business solutions;
  • Creating and delivering customer proposals coordinating with key internal stakeholders to develop the proposal strategy and solution;
  • Providing a high level of customer satisfaction and service through effective and timely responses to customer requests and queries for technical information, pricing, delivery, and service;
  • Providing application engineering support and technical education to customers and prospects;
  • Visiting customer sites and attending industry trade shows and exhibitions when required;
  • Updating and submitting standardized reporting, as requested by management on areas of focus such as but not limited to calls made, prospects, funnel status, etc.;
  • Maintaining strong cross-functional relationships within the company to maximize the customer's experience;
  • Providing feedback to management regarding customer needs, competition, and market trends;
  • Supporting and initiating continuous improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned for the overall benefit of Roteq.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree (preferred) or engineering technologist diploma;
  • 5+ years industrial experience in as Operator, Maintenance, Manufacturing/Production Engineering, Plant Manager, preferably in wire and cable manufacturing;
  • 3+ years technical sales experience;
  • Technically minded, with a broad knowledge of wire and cable products;
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite;
  • Self-motivated and driven to seek out new sales opportunities;
  • Results oriented with the ability to open doors at the executive level, and develop strategic plans and solutions to address complex customer needs;
  • Ability to propel and maintain cross functional resources and relationships to deliver customized and valuable solutions for the customer;
  • Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders as well as cross-functional teams;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Strong desire to provide excellent customer service and support;
  • Ability to travel primarily within North America (20%) to customers and suppliers.
