CIVIL PROJECT MANAGER

Job Description:

As a Project Manager at Gulf Operators, you will play a pivotal role in the full project planning and execution of our civil construction projects.

These projects typically involve multiple phases, including design, permitting, excavation, construction and testing and will require collaboration with engineers, construction workers, estimators and other key stakeholders to ensure successful and timely completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Planning and Management: Oversee and manage all phases of the project (cost, scheduling, problem-solving, technical management, communication with stakeholders)
  • Developing Site Work Schedules: Create detailed schedules to ensure project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Work Plan and Permits: Ensure comprehensive work plans are in place and all necessary permits are secured before project commencement.
  • Budget Preparation: Collaborate with Estimators to develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-efficiency and financial accountability.
  • Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including labour, materials, and equipment.
  • Cost Tracking: Implement cost tracking mechanisms to monitor project expenses and ensure adherence to the budget.
  • Contract Administration: Manage contracts with sub-contractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Plan Adjustments: Adapt and adjust project plans as necessary to address challenges and changes in scope.
  • Champion Innovation: Lead and promote innovation across various aspects of the construction process, including technology adoption, construction methods, project delivery methods, performance metrics, risk management, and safety innovations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in Project Management. Experience in heavy civil construction environment is preferred.
  • Certifications: P.Tech designation preferred.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong financial understanding and ability to manage budgets effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead projects and teams, with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
  • Safety Focus: Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and promoting a culture of safety on all projects.
