We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety (HSE) Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a champion of our safety culture, dedicated to reducing risks and promoting a safe working environment across our projects. This role is crucial in ensuring our employees are educated, compliant, and fully equipped to meet and exceed our HSE standards.

OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Facilitate targeted safety training sessions, ensuring all team members are knowledgeable about safety protocols and procedures.
Conduct regular on-site inspections, proactively identifying potential hazards and implementing corrective measures.
Collaborate with project managers to develop and refine site-specific safety plans.
Lead incident investigations and provide detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
Engage with field teams to reinforce safety standards and ensure adherence to best practices.
Analyze safety data to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
Support operations in managing risk by advising on HSE topics, enhancing safe work procedures, and providing input on new initiatives.
Manage HSE documentation, ensuring records are up-to-date and easily accessible.
Stay current with industry regulations and best practices, ensuring compliance across all sites.

QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the construction industry.
Ability to obtain Reliability Security Clearance
Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is an asset.
Strong understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practices in the construction industry.
Proven ability to lead safety training and education programs.
Experience conducting site inspections and risk assessments, with a track record of implementing successful safety improvements.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical skills to interpret safety data and develop actionable insights.
Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites as needed.
