We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Specialist to join our team and contribute to maintaining our exceptional safety culture.
Responsibilities:- Develop and deliver targeted safety training programs for all employees, ensuring they understand and adhere to established protocols.
- Conduct regular on-site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures, promoting a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with project managers to develop comprehensive site-specific safety plans, mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Lead thorough investigations into incidents, providing detailed reports with actionable recommendations to prevent future occurrences.
- Engage with field teams to reinforce safety standards, best practices, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Analyze safety data to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and recommend improvements to enhance our overall safety performance.
- Provide expert advice on health and safety matters, supporting operations in managing risks and implementing safe work procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, ensuring compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
- Stay informed about evolving regulations and best practices within the construction industry, adapting our programs to maintain a high level of safety.
- 3+ years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the construction sector.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is an asset.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to the construction industry.
- Proven ability to lead effective safety training programs and educate employees on critical safety protocols.
- Experience conducting site inspections, risk assessments, and implementing successful safety improvements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret safety data and develop actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a commitment to maintaining accurate records and documentation.
