The Opportunity:

The allocator is responsible for strategic inventory planning and forecasting for JD Sports Canada. This person will work closely with planning, buying, Warehouse and retail departments to ensure sales goals are achieved by efficiently completing all tasks within duties and responsibilities.


Duties/Responsibilities:


Allocations Duties

  • Working with the Buying and Planning departments; ensuring distributions are set by the department & strategic direction.
  • Review auto-replenishment and ensure all stores are fully ranged and stocked, ensuring a premium consumer experience with complete size runs and depth available.
  • Review and optimise option counts and inventory levels in store to meet or exceed sales & margin expectations in line with store capacities.
  • Consolidate stock within store and distribution centres to keep retail locations premium.
  • Work closely with the team to highlight opportunities and trends within retail.
  • Create tools and ad-hoc reports to manage allocation processes effectively and efficiently.
  • Support the team as needed with additional analysis.


Product Administration

  • Create and manage options in the stock management system. Including ad-hoc changes.
  • Work with brands to get UPCs for option creation.
  • Create POs in stock management system using upload tools. Submit purchase orders to brands in line with the sign-off process.
  • Order book management.
  • Manage the housekeeping of the on-order report. Ensuring accurate OOR
  • Communicate and chase ETAs from brands weekly.
  • Communicate late or cancelled purchase orders to buying, planning and allocations.
  • Manage back ordered purchases.


Development

  • Support in building range plans.
  • Support in development of visual deck.
  • Help merchandising department with ad-hoc projects or analysis as needed.


Skills/Experience/Knowledge needed:

  • 2-3 years experience at either a vertical or multi-brand retailer.
  • Very strong communication skills: oral, visual, written.
  • Intermediate computer skills including MS Office applications - Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook
  • Good business analytical skills and the ability to understand and interpret qualitative and quantitative data to aid in effective decision-making, Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal abilities to perform effectively in a collaborative and team-oriented environment, where partnering with others and building strong working relationships are critical. Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of inventory planning is an asset.
  • Experience working in an office is an asset.
