About the Role: Black and White Zebra is an independent media tech company that owns and operates a growing portfolio of digital media brands and publishing technology. We're on a mission to help people win at work and to help us achieve this, we're hiring for a new member of the talent team.
Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager, your primary goal will be to find and identify Subject Matter Experts to engage with the company's various content creation programs. This will encompass building and maintaining talent pipelines, researching where to find the most relevant subject matter experts and making sure accurate records are kept of experts' profiles and their eligibility for our various initiatives.

What do we mean by Subject Matter Experts? Think, thought leaders and influencers from the SaaS technology sector (and others) to appear in the boards, podcasts articles and other forms of content showcased across our various publications. Who you are:
  • You have a passion for search. Maybe you're the one that always finds the best hotel or restaurants to go to, or you've had previous work experience sourcing in a talent acquisition-type role, creating media lists or helping build prospect pipelines for sales or PR teams. Either way, nothing escapes your ability to search the web and find information and you get a buzz out of finding a relevant profile You understand how to run Google searches and find prospects outside of LinkedIn as well as within it.
  • You're organized and have an eye for detail. You've dealt with large datasets previously and know how to maintain information to maintain its searchability.
  • You can prioritize tasks based on the needs of the business and your KPIs and goals.
  • You're a good communicator and comfortable speaking with team members at all levels within the business.
  • You're adaptable and willing to pitch in to help the team as needed around the office
What you'll be doing (responsibilities):
  • You'll research and target new sourcing channels, constantly working to build and maintain pipelines and uncover new hidden talent for our content creation initiatives.
  • Improve the searchability of our candidate pools by ensuring candidate information, tags and associated data are in our ATS (Lever)
  • Work with business leaders and the Talent Acquisition Manager to understand sourcing initiatives' needs and requirements
  • Regularly track pipeline activity to share with your team members and internal stakeholders
  • Assist with additional administrative People Ops duties as requested

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively
Nice to haves:
  • Previous experience searching for and identifying profiles for recruitment, sales, or marketing teams (and/or other use cases too)
  • Boolean, LinkedIn and alternative search techniques and tools or an interest in learning these skills
  • Experience working with an ATS
  • Experience leveraging and/or creating AI tools
Salary Statement: This internship position is available for an 40-hour per week, over an initial 4-month term. As this is a paid internship opportunity, the role comes with an hourly rate of between $23 and $25 CAD per hour. The range is a guide for the expected skills, knowledge and experience for new hires based in Canada only. Seniority level and compensation ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, as well as equity with other team members, and alignment with market data.
