Production/Application Support Analyst

Compensation: $80-90k


Must be local to Halifax


Responsibilities:

  • Address issues pertaining to front office, middle office and back office that impact the business' ability to perform daily functions.
  • Drive improved stability and higher quality of data delivered to front office, middle office and back office.
  • Contribute and improve the configuration of our monitoring platform ITRS, while actioning triggered events.
  • Document new issues that occur and maintain/enhance existing documentation to ensure consistent steps performed for known issues.
  • Coordinate between several groups to remediate issues (Support, Development, Analytics, Quants).
  • Investigate pricing failures and resolve issues utilization various skills including SQL, Unix, Windows.
  • Develop scripts to automate processes using Powershell and other scripting languages.
  • Engage in platform related projects which include vulnerability remediation, business continuity practice and automation of day-to-day tasks.
  • Perform change and release practices to deploy proprietary and vendor based software.
  • Weekend checkouts on rotation will be required to ensure stable start of week.
  • Rotation of shift schedules might require late shift (10-7 PM EST).


Qualifications:

Required

  • 2-4 years of experience supporting applications on equity derivatives or similar business
  • SQL language (3 years, Oracle preferred)
  • Python scripting experience (1-2 years)
  • Monitoring experience of high availability trading applications, batch processing or similar
  • Job Scheduler experience (i.e. BMC Control-M, Autosys, Cron, etc.)
  • Windows Server (3 years)
  • Linux experience (3 years)

Preferred

  • ITRS Geneos Monitoring Software
  • Experience supporting risk management and analytics applications / infrastructure
  • Kubernetes / Docker experience
  • GRID / Datasynapse
