Production/Application Support Analyst

A financial firm is looking for a Production/Application Support Analyst to join their team in Halifax.
Compensation: $80-90k
Must be local to Halifax
Responsibilities:
- Address issues pertaining to front office, middle office and back office that impact the business' ability to perform daily functions.
- Drive improved stability and higher quality of data delivered to front office, middle office and back office.
- Contribute and improve the configuration of our monitoring platform ITRS, while actioning triggered events.
- Document new issues that occur and maintain/enhance existing documentation to ensure consistent steps performed for known issues.
- Coordinate between several groups to remediate issues (Support, Development, Analytics, Quants).
- Investigate pricing failures and resolve issues utilization various skills including SQL, Unix, Windows.
- Develop scripts to automate processes using Powershell and other scripting languages.
- Engage in platform related projects which include vulnerability remediation, business continuity practice and automation of day-to-day tasks.
- Perform change and release practices to deploy proprietary and vendor based software.
- Weekend checkouts on rotation will be required to ensure stable start of week.
- Rotation of shift schedules might require late shift (10-7 PM EST).
Qualifications:
Required
- 2-4 years of experience supporting applications on equity derivatives or similar business
- SQL language (3 years, Oracle preferred)
- Python scripting experience (1-2 years)
- Monitoring experience of high availability trading applications, batch processing or similar
- Job Scheduler experience (i.e. BMC Control-M, Autosys, Cron, etc.)
- Windows Server (3 years)
- Linux experience (3 years)
Preferred
- ITRS Geneos Monitoring Software
- Experience supporting risk management and analytics applications / infrastructure
- Kubernetes / Docker experience
- GRID / Datasynapse
