Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a skilled Cancer Surveillance Analyst to support the development of a high-quality cancer surveillance system. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring that our patients receive the best possible care by providing accurate and timely data analysis.

About the Opportunity

The Cancer Surveillance Analyst will work closely with epidemiologists and report to the Manager of the Cancer Registry & Analytics. Key responsibilities include conducting routine data queries, analyzing data, producing descriptive cancer statistics, and developing quality and performance indicators for cancer control. Additionally, the analyst will assist in creating knowledge products such as annual reports and infographics to facilitate knowledge exchange with patients, healthcare providers, and the public.

About You

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate with a Master of Science in Epidemiology or equivalent (thesis-based degree preferred). The ideal candidate will have one year of related experience in epidemiology and a thorough understanding of population health and epidemiological principles. Strong analytical skills, excellent writing, and content creation abilities are also essential. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and knowledge of statistical and analytical software such as SAS, R, and Python are required. Experience with Arc Pro, Tableau, and Canva software is an asset. Fluency in French is a plus.

This permanent full-time position comes with a competitive salary range of $37.61 - $47.01 per hour (subject to review).
