About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Coordinator to join our Service Design and Delivery team at the Government of Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will provide leadership to a strong, established delivery team, collaborating with technical experts, Service Designers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, and other professionals to develop new products for a variety of initiatives and support and improve existing software critical to delivering government programs and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Providing hands-on leadership to a product delivery and support team, consisting of both internal staff and contracted professionals.
  2. Coordinating, prioritizing, and assigning activities required to develop, deploy, and support digital solutions within an assigned portfolio of products and services.
  3. Engaging stakeholders and communicating their needs as inputs into software design and development.
  4. Proactively leading the delivery of products and services, including managing dependencies, resolving blockers, and escalating more challenging risks and issues.
  5. Providing digital expertise to government program partners throughout the stages of a product's lifecycle.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree or diploma in IT or Computer Science and at least five years of relevant experience.
  2. In-depth technical knowledge and experience in software design and development.
  3. Experience leading product delivery and/or technical support teams.
  4. Experience with project methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  5. Experience estimating effort and duration of projects and tasks and managing timely delivery.
  6. Effective decision-making and prioritization skills.
  7. Effective communication and presentation skills.
