Job Description:


The Patient Services Clerk is responsible for data entry, scheduling, phone communication, team support, site and supply oversight and clinic flow within a wide variety of clinics both on site and off site.

The Patient Service Clerk will support both Child and Youth Ambulatory Care and the Pediatric/TAY Eating Disorder Program four days a week.


Education:

  • Medical Office Administration Certificate/Diploma or Equivalent Program essential

Experience:

  • 23 years clerical experience in an outpatient/clinic setting or equivalent
  • Experience with data entry and excel
  • Work within interdisciplinary settings
  • Experience with the pediatric population and families
  • Familiarity with multisite and off site clinic work
  • Experience working directly with physicians
  • Experience within a setting with competing priorities and multiple demands
  • Experience with process development and improvement as well as independent problem solving skills

Competencies:

  • Travel to community sites
  • Transportation of patients in wheelchairs and on stretchers
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Detail orientation and demonstration of critical thinking


 Computer literacy
  • Microsoft Office, Excel and Data Entry essential
  • Keyboarding skills 50wpm essential
  • Current experience with Meditech, including registration, EMR, order entry and appointment scheduling required
  • Current Experience with Microsoft Outlook and scheduling
  • Current experience in the processing of physicians orders
  • Demonstrated skill set in patient centered support and supporting a team with a variety of health care providers
