Position Title: Special Aide - Patient Food Services

Organization: Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre

The Patient Food Services department is dedicated to the preparation and delivery of meals and nutritional support to patients, emphasizing exceptional service with a focus on variety, flavor, nutrition, food safety, and presentation to meet patient satisfaction.

In addition to serving inpatients, our services extend to various locations and community organizations, including catering and frozen meal provisions.

Our team comprises committed and certified Food Handlers, along with Diet Clerks and Supervisors, ensuring high-quality food services for patients and their families.

The role of Special Aide encompasses the assembly, distribution, collection, and sanitation of patient trays, meals, and nutritional items, adhering to hygiene standards and Health & Safety regulations.

Applicants should possess a High School Diploma, a Food Safety Training Certificate, and preferably a Food Service Worker / Dietary Aide Certificate, along with relevant experience in a similar environment.

Essential qualifications for this role include sound judgment, enthusiasm, knowledge of food safety, organizational capabilities, problem-solving skills, and effective communication within a team.

Candidates must fulfill minimum educational criteria and exhibit a commitment to job performance and attendance standards.

Willingness to work weekdays, weekends, and various shifts according to the operational requirements of a 24/7 healthcare facility is essential.
