At Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Food Services Manager to join our team. As a key member of our hospitality department, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the preparation and distribution of meals and nourishments to patients, visitors, and community members.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily operations of the food service department, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead a team of 62 staff members, including aides, techs, chefs, clerks, and leaders, to achieve exceptional patient satisfaction and quality of care.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize nutritional care and patient safety, while contributing to the planning of RVH's expansion.
- Collaborate with the Director, Hospitality, to ensure seamless operations and effective resource planning.
- Manage the department's budget, identifying opportunities for efficiencies and revenue generation.
- Ensure timely resolution of concerns or recommendations brought forward by patients, unit managers, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a culture of safety, encouraging prevention and risk/error elimination.
- Bachelor's Degree in Food and Nutrition Management or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in food service management, preferably in a unionized, acute care hospital.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to coach, motivate, and direct teams.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
