At Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Food Services Manager to join our team. As a key member of our hospitality department, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the preparation and distribution of meals and nourishments to patients, visitors, and community members.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the daily operations of the food service department, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead a team of 62 staff members, including aides, techs, chefs, clerks, and leaders, to achieve exceptional patient satisfaction and quality of care.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize nutritional care and patient safety, while contributing to the planning of RVH's expansion.
- Collaborate with Public Health, Registered Dieticians, Speech Language Pathologists, patients, and unit managers to resolve concerns and recommendations.
- Manage the Diet Office/Patient Menu management, including daily operations of the Computrition Diet Manager database.
- Conduct tray accuracy audits, modified texture consistency audits, and waste audit analysis to ensure menu quality and safety.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a similar position.
- Minimum of five years Food Service management experience in a unionized, Acute Care Hospital.
- Minimum of ten years food service, production, and clinical nutrition experience.
- Active member in good standing with College of Dietitians of Ontario and National Association of Dieticians of Canada preferred.
- Current Advanced Food Safety Training.
- Agent of change with ability to envision new concepts, methods, and plans.
- Effective leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, mentor, inspire, and direct teams.
- Ability to delegate and assign work to resources and resolve issues and conflicts.
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of safety which encourages prevention and risk/error elimination.
- Understanding of budgets and fiscal responsibility.
Please note that as a Regional Health Centre, our operations run 24/7. Depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
