Project Manager, Cancer Program Strategy

Toronto, Ontario, Canada Michael Garron Hospital Full time

OVERVIEW

The Cancer Strategy & Transformation portfolio at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) was established in recognition of the growing need for cancer care in our community and the opportunity we have to continue to meet that need together with our partners.

This new team's leadership will include a Project Manager and Clinical Transformation Lead.

Together, and through close collaboration with internal and external partners, they will lead large-scale, complex strategic projects, primarily the implementation of a new oncology module for our electronic health record in our outpatient oncology clinic and systemic therapy unit.

The team will also help MGH to continue to find ways to enhance and improve our oncology programs, including identifying where there maybe opportunities to grow our services, ensuring our teams can continue to deliver high-quality cancer care close to home.

The oncology electronic health record (EHR) module implementation is particularly complex, requiring senior project management of work by clinical teams in oncology and pharmacy, and technical teams in IT, health records and decision support.

Successful implementation will take into account clinical practice and workflow, technical processes, and external oncology funding (Ontario Health/Cancer Care Ontario's Systemic Treatment Quality Based Procedure (ST-QBP)).

It also requires close collaboration with the oncology module vendor.

Together with the Project Director and Clinical Transformation Lead, the Project Manager will work to ensure this complex module is implemented on time and on budget, facilitates the delivery of high-quality, safe, evidence-based cancer care, and optimizes our funding capture through the ST-QBP.

The Project Manager will also take a leadership role in additional strategic projects in oncology that support the portfolio's mandate, in collaboration with staff and leaders across MGH.
