The RCYC operates year-round from two facilities: our summer home at the Island Clubhouse nestled in the Toronto Islands and our City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto at St.

George and Bloor.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


A Server is responsible for ensuring that all Members and Guests enjoy superior dining service while exceeding the Royal Canadian Yacht Club standards.

This individual must always maintain a high level of professionalism and adhere to all Club policies and procedures. He or she must have strong communication skills while providing exceptional Member and Guest service.

SKILLS / JOB DUTIES:

  • Promptly and efficiently deliver food and beverages to members' tables.
  • Ensure each meal is presented attractively and to the highest standards.
  • Clear tables after guests depart, properly sorting dishes, silverware, and glassware for washing.
  • Reset and arrange tables as required.
  • Communicate effectively with the service team to ensure accurate and timely food delivery.
  • Assist during peak hours to provide seamless and efficient service, as directed by the Food and Beverage Supervisor or Manager.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including tables, chairs, and serving stations.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have 12 years of server experience
  • Post secondary culinary training an asset
  • Must have Smart Serve Certification
  • Perform well under pressure
  • Work productively in a strong team atmosphere as well as the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

HOURS OF WORK:

  • We have seasonal fulltime (up to 44 hrs/week) and parttime positions (available for at least 2 shifts per week)
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends and public holidays as well as various shifts (hours of work between 7:45am to 11pm).
  • Able to work at our Toronto Island Facility
  • Catch our ferry at 150 Cherry St. or Water Taxis at the foot of Younge Street
