Job Title: IT Specialist



Job Summary:


The IT Specialist will provide comprehensive support for the organization's IT systems, ensuring optimal performance and availability 24/7. This includes supporting servers, networks, applications, end-user hardware/software, and providing excellent customer service to staff.



Key Responsibilities:


- Resolve technical issues promptly through effective troubleshooting and communication


- Manage user accounts, permissions, identity/access across systems and applications


- Administer core IT services (DHCP, DNS, certificates, Office 365, Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint etc.)


- Onboard new staff and provide IT systems training/documentation


- Support helpdesk by troubleshooting desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers etc.


- Install, configure, update, test and maintain IT systems and equipment


- Implement and manage on-premise and cloud server infrastructure


- Monitor and support network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, wireless)


- Ensure systems security, backup processes and cybersecurity


- Administer VoIP phone systems and call management


- Project coordination for new system implementations and enhancements


- Partner with vendors and staff on IT operations and projects



Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT, Computer Science or related field
Minimum 4 years of IT experience in systems/network administration
IT certifications in areas like ITIL, Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco etc.
Solid understanding of server technologies (Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V)
Experience with cloud technologies like Azure, Office 365
Working knowledge of networking (firewalls, wireless, VPNs)
Expertise in desktop/laptop support (Windows, Mac, Linux)
Understanding of IT service management best practices
Excellent troubleshooting, multitasking and time management abilities
Strong written/verbal communication skills to explain technical concepts
Team player with ability to work independently and collaboratively
Attention to detail and commitment to resolve issues promptly
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and provide on-call support
