The project: 

This is an opportunity to work with Mace North America, to join a multi-billion-dollar aviation infrastructure program in Toronto, Canada. This initiative aims to revolutionize the airport into one of the most advanced, sustainable, and passenger-friendly facilities in the world. With a strong commitment to environmental conservation, the project aims to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and position the airport as a leader in environmental stewardship. By integrating cutting-edge technology, the aviation infrastructure program will make air travel smarter, more efficient, and user-friendly, enhancing the quality of life by making travel more enjoyable and accessible.

You will lead the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
You will be the relationship owner and primary contact for Mace executive team engagement, and responsible for ensuring efficient governance to achieve our strategic priorities.
You will be responsible for key client relationship management, and converting the client’s vision into a deliverable onsite plan.

You will provide expert technical advice and leadership support to Delivery Teams, creating a culture of ownership, promoting roles and responsibilities.

You’ll be responsible for:

Leadership and Management

Deputizing for PMO Services Director: Successfully managing and integrating PMO services functions including QAQC, logistics, safety, security, and permitting in the absence of the PMO services director.
Direction and Leadership: Providing direction and leadership to leads and managers within the PMO services function, ensuring effective team performance.

Reporting and Decision-Making

Executive Reporting: Participating in management and executive reporting and decision-making forums, advising on QAQC, logistics, safety, security, and permitting aspects.
Quality Assurance: Providing assurance and quality control of executive-level management reports prior to issue, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Subject Matter Expertise

Support to Delivery Team: Supporting the delivery team with subject matter expertise and advice on QAQC, logistics, safety, security, and permitting matters.
Management Plan Assurance: Assuring the completeness and effectiveness of program QAQC, logistics, safety, security, and permitting management plans.

Collaboration and Integration

Collaborative Operation: Working collaboratively with the PMO services director and the deputy PMO services director, controls and commercial to ensure the cohesive and integrated operation of PMO Services.

Staff Development

Coaching and Mentoring: Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of staff, fostering professional growth and development.

You’ll need to have: 

Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programs in the aviation sector.
Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise. 
Strong commercial and financial acumen. 
Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams. 
Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders. 
Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
Experience working in the aviation infrastructure sector
Experience in a director level position
Previous experience working with the GTAA (Greater Toronto Airports Authority) or equivalent.
Industry qualification or chartership e.g. PgMP, PMI, CMI, DBIA.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or applicable field.
